Singing
I live to inspire confidence, power, and truth. As a singer, my voice has taken me on an incredible journey—performing for British royalty, recording at Abbey Road Studios, gracing the stage at the Savoy Theatre, and singing to commuters on the London Underground and I've sung a tiny desk concert for a family in their living room.
I’m a traveller at heart. Singing has taken me across Europe, South Africa, North America, and Australia. I never quite know where the music will take me next! It sounds nuts, but that is the beautiful, unpredictable life of a performer. Fortunately, I rarely travel alone; my tiny chihuahua, Blossom, is my constant companion, often hitting the road and working right alongside me.
I’ve spoofed an operatic Princess Leia, played a water-pistol-wielding cabaret singer in the West End, and used my song to playfully coerce sparkling wine from picnicking audience members. Listeners often tell me they are struck by the pure, rich tone of my voice, but my absolute favourite moments are when I see someone moved to tears by the connection we make in the room.
My favourite response after a gig remains: ‘Debbie has a ROLLS ROYCE of a voice!’
That is the exact effect I want to have on everyone who hears me—creating that unforgettable, profound bond that can only be shared between a singer and her audience. It moves lives.

Acting
I live to find the unexpected in the expected. Because my father was a traveling salesman, I spent my childhood moving along the western seaboard of North America—sparking a lifelong passion for adventure and a deep curiosity about human nature.
I trained at The Actors Centre and Impulse Theatre Company in London. My training, paired with my experience as the former Chief Executive of American Actors UK, perfectly feeds into my primary casting type: high-powered, successful, fiercely strong women, and bold character roles.
I’m not one to sit on the sidelines. I’ve performed Shakespeare inside a cave, taken on a gender-bending turn as rag doll crafting Judge Hathorne in The Crucible and produced, edited, and starred in my own short films. As a creator, I’ve written and performed award-winning one-woman shows across UK festivals, with a brand-new solo production currently in development. I even share the stage with my gorgeous dog, Blossom, who was recently accused of being the culprit at a murder mystery event I was performing in. She took the accusation in her stride—she always knows she’s the star.
My curiosity regularly takes me across the globe; I fulfilled a lifelong dream of exploring the pyramids of Egypt and going to the historic hotel where Agatha Christie penned her mysteries.

"I live for those magical moments when comedy, music, and vulnerability collide—when an audience suddenly stops just watching and starts connecting.
Growing up in the wonderfully chaotic city of Vancouver, Canada, I discovered early on that humour could transform almost anything. It became my way of making sense of the world and, before I even realised it, was quietly finding its way into everything I created.
These days I happily describe myself as a cabaret chameleon. One night I might be spoofing Princess Leia, the next I'm a gothic diva, a festive favourite, or persuading unsuspecting picnic audiences to part with their sparkling wine through the power of song! My work isn't afraid to explore bigger topics—from ageing and neurodiversity to life's wonderfully awkward moments—but I believe laughter opens doors that seriousness alone never could.
The greatest compliment I can receive is when someone tells me they felt seen. If audiences leave having laughed, thought a little differently, and felt a genuine connection, then I've done my job.

Comedy
Growing up in Vancouver, Canada, I learned that almost anything could become comedy—including comparing bear safety tips with dating Canadian men!
Today, I create character-led comedy that blends cabaret, music and storytelling, often exploring the wonderfully messy realities of life, aging and neurodiversity. Whether I'm performing one of my larger-than-life characters or finding the humour in everyday experiences, I'm happiest when audiences leave feeling they've laughed, recognised something of themselves, and shared a genuine moment of connection.
My work has been seen at theatres, festivals and cabaret venues across the UK and beyond, and I'm always developing new characters and shows that challenge expectations while celebrating the joy of being gloriously human."
